Singapore and Bali, 16 May 2019 – Bali-based fine dining restaurant Apéritif jumps eight places on World’s Best Places Stars’ (WBP Stars) Top 60 Restaurants list after its debut on the list in January 2019 – shortly after the restaurant’s end-2018 official opening. Jumping from #58 to #50, in just four months, the Ubud newcomer has made waves locally and regionally with its unique take on global eclectic cuisine.

WBP Stars is a content guide for food lovers, travellers and hospitality experts. The multi-channel platform features the best fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels around the world, with the goal of providing insight to some of the top hospitality and dining experiences in the world. Based on seven different criteria, each restaurant is rated by anonymous inspectors, the site’s dedicated editorial team, as well as real guest reviews. With a total possible score out of 100, restaurants can be awarded up to 40 points for taste, and 10 points each for innovation, uniqueness, plating, service, value for money and sustainability.

“We are very humbled that our restaurant has been recognised by WBP Stars’ list a mere six months into opening. It is testament to the hard work and dedication we have put into conceptualising and executing each and every dish,” says Chef Nic Vanderbeeken, 39, Apéritif’s Executive Chef. “Our team has been working hard to ensure that we are consistently delivering the best possible dining experience to all our guests. We are constantly evolving and improving, and we can’t wait to share our take on global eclectic cuisine with more diners.”

Apéritif’s menu explores global cuisine by way of the Indonesian archipelago, introducing a mélange of flavours that reflect the borderless nature of today’s world. Taking cues from the familiar flavours that intersect various distinct cuisines around the world, Chef Nic Vanderbeeken and Pastry Chef Alexander McKinstry expertly navigate modern European cuisine with hints of Indonesia’s rich gastronomic culture, to present dishes that resonate with today’s discerning global diner.

Housed in a spacious standalone building overlooking lush tropical jungle, the opulent 60-seat restaurant evokes the convivial and decadent atmosphere of the 1920s. Combining the highest quality ingredients from around the world and the island of Bali, Apéritif has created an eclectic blend of global cuisine that takes pride in its sense of place.
